PoolhausSkizze_1

The Poolhaus is a modern hideaway, thoughtfully designed between Lake Chiemsee and the Alps, in the village of Rottau.

Designed with care and attention, we built this home with a focus on light, simplicity, and a close connection to nature.

Wake to alpine air, spend slow afternoons by the pool, or explore the area with scenic bike rides and mountain hikes. The Poolhaus is a beautiful base for experiencing the Alps.

Living Space & Natural Pool

The Poolhaus offers generous space for two. Its layout balances openness with a cozy modern atmosphere, allowing you to relax indoors and outdoors.

On the ground floor, large doors open directly onto the natural swimming pond so you can enjoy the view with your morning coffee or jump straight in.

From the main bathroom you have direct access to an outdoor shower and the pond, making it easy to move between inside and outside throughout the day. With a depth of 1.70 metres and a size of 10 × 7 metres, the pond is ideal for relaxed swimming and a refreshing start or end to the day.

A pergola connects the Poolhaus to the main house, where we live. We are usually out during guest stays so you can enjoy the Poolhaus and the pool without disturbance.

The Mezzanine

The bedroom is located on the upper mezzanine and is designed as a quiet, comfortable retreat. A large double bed sits on reclaimed railroad track wood under the sloping roof, giving the space a warm, Alpine feel.

Skylights above the bed fill the house with natural light during the day and allow you to look up at the sky at night.

The upstairs bathroom includes another shower, toilet, and a large bathtub, offering space to unwind after a day outside.

In summer, ceiling fans and a shading system keep the room cool and comfortable, maintaining a pleasant indoor climate without breaking the connection to the surrounding landscape.

It’s a restful space that encourages slow mornings and cozy nights.
